La FIAF, Fédération internationale des archives du film, le plus vaste et important réseau international de cinémathèques et d'archives du film au monde, a remis son Prix FIAF 2019 au légendaire cinéaste franco-suisse Jean-Luc Godard lors d'une cérémonie spéciale à Lausanne, en Suisse, le 11 avril 2019, en sa présence. La cérémonie s'est déroulée au Casino de Montbenon, siège de la Cinémathèque suisse, où la communauté internationale de la préservation de films s'est réunie cette semaine à l'occasion du 75e Congrès annuel de la FIAF. Jean-Luc Godard a tenu à dédier le prix à la mémoire d'Iris Barry (1895-1969), qui fut la première directrice du département cinéma du Museum of Modern Art à New York (fondé en 1935), et l'une des fondatrices de la FIAF.

Der FIAF Award 2019 geht an Jean-Luc Godard
Die Internationale Vereinigung der Filmarchive FIAF, das weltweit grösste und bedeutendste internationale Netzwerk von Filmarchiven, hat ihren Award 2019 an einer Sonderveranstaltung in Lausanne am 11. April 2019 dem legendären französisch-schweizerischen Cineasten Jean-Luc Godard zugesprochen. Die Zeremonie fand im Casino de Montbenon statt, dem Sitz der Cinémathèque suisse, wo sich die internationale Gemeinschaft der Filmarchivarinnen und -archivaren diese Woche zum 75. Jahreskongress der FIAF einfand. Jean-Luc Godard widmete den Preis dem Andenken an Iris Barry (1895-1969), die erste Direktorin des Departements Film des 1935 gegründeten Museum of Modern Art in New York und Mitbegründerin der FIAF.

2019 FIAF Award presented to Jean-Luc Godard
FIAF, the International Federation of Film Archives, the largest and most important global network of cinematheques and film archives around the world, presented its 2019 FIAF Award to legendary French-Swiss filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard during a special ceremony in Lausanne, Switzerland, on 11 April 2019. The presentation ceremony took place at the Casino de Montbenon, home of the Cinémathèque suisse, where the worldwide film preservation community has gathered this week on the occasion of FIAF's 75th annual Congress. Jean-Luc Godard dedicated the Award to the memory of Iris Barry (1895-1969), the first Curator of the Museum of Modern Art Film Library in New York from 1935, and one of the founders of the FIAF.
